Virginia Andrews Cook, 76, entered her eternal rest on September 30, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., at Forsyth Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Virginia was born on April 26, 1950. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and woman of faith whose greatest joy was loving and caring for her family. Virginia was truly one of the most loving people you could ever meet. Her contagious laughter could brighten any room, and her beautiful spirit radiated love to everyone she encountered.

Virginia was a God-fearing woman who loved her Lord and Savior and never missed an opportunity to talk about her faith. Her relationship with God was a treasured part of her life, and the love she had for the Lord was evident in the way she loved others.

She found happiness in the simple comforts of home, especially spending time with her beloved dog, “Itty,” also lovingly known as “Precious.” She cherished spending time with all of her family, making memories and enjoying the love and togetherness they shared. She also enjoyed being at home, listening to her favorite Western story reels on Facebook, and listening to gospel music. These simple moments, surrounded by the people and pets she loved, brought her great joy.

Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, B. Evelyn Andrews and Julius V. Andrews Sr.; her sister, Clara A. Handy; and her youngest son, Donnie Lee George Jr., affectionately known as “Bo".

Virginia leaves behind her loving family, including her special daughter, Angela Walker, and her three sons, Teddy Jones; Russell Jones (Jill); and Jonathan George (Gloria).

She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Virginia shared a unique and loving relationship with each of them. The memories they made together, the love she gave so freely, and the wisdom she shared will remain with them for generations to come.

Virginia had a gift for making every person feel special. Whether through her laughter, her words of encouragement, her faith, or simply the love she showed by being present, she left an imprint on the hearts of those around her.

Although her family mourns the loss of her earthly presence, they find comfort in knowing that Virginia is now resting in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior. Her faith, her laughter, and her unconditional love will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life honoring Virginia will be held on November 14, 2026, at:

Brightwood Christian Church, 300 Brightwood Church Rd, Gibsonville, NC 27249

The family will welcome everyone beginning at 1:00 p.m. and conclude around 3:00 p.m.

Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Virginia’s life, share cherished memories, and honor the legacy of love and faith she leaves behind.

Following the service, the immediate family will gather together for food and fellowship as they continue to celebrate Virginia’s life and share memories of the love she gave so freely.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Virginia’s memory to help with funeral and memorial expenses. Your generosity, love and support during this difficult time would mean so much to our family.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Virginia will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered. Her laughter may no longer fill the room, but the love and light she shared will remain in the hearts of everyone blessed to know her.
