Timothy Wayne "Mater" Mays

Timothy Wayne Mays, 57, of Salisbury, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025.

Born to Mary Ann Stanley and Donald Eugene Mays, both now deceased, Tim was a father to Chandler Mays and Ashley Mays, and is preceded in death by his son Jordan Mays. He is survived by his brother, Scott Allen Mays, niece Whitney Mays, and nephew Dylan Mays.

Tim never met a stranger—his friendly nature and warm smile made everyone feel welcome. He grew up in the family’s automotive business and had a lifelong love for cooking and spending time on the lake.

Though he faced struggles in life, Tim found peace in his later years, making amends and reconnecting with those closest to him. He will be remembered for his kindness, resilience, and the joy he brought to those around him.
