Rodney Clay Cribb, affectionately known to family and friends as "Buddy," passed away peacefully at his home in Thomasville, NC, on May 19, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on January 20, 1962, in Davidson County, NC, Buddy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.
Buddy was born to Billy Cribb and the late Alice Todd. He received his formal education from Thomasville City Schools, which laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and dedication. He was employed by TFI & Commercial Carving Furniture Industries.
On February 14, 2000, Buddy married the love of his life, Debbie Diane Lambeth, in High Point, NC. Their marriage was a testament to love and partnership, lasting over 26 years.
Buddy had a passion for life that was evident in his many interests. He was an avid NASCAR enthusiast, enjoyed charity motorcycle rides, and found great joy in working in his garden, often sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and neighbors.
Preceded in death by his mother, Alice Todd, Buddy is survived by his devoted wife, Debbie Cribb; his father, Billy Cribb, and stepmother, Rachel Cribb; his sons, Rodney Cribb and his sons Garrett and Logan Cribb, and Steven Cribb and his son Michael Cribb; his stepson, Joseph Long, and wife Kristine, and their children Natalie, Josie, Maggie, Grady, Allie, and Wesley Long; his stepdaughter, Joni Eddinger, and husband Daniel, and their children McKenna and Henry Eddinger. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Genelle Gaffney, Bonnie Cribb, and Robin Epperson; his stepbrother, Scottie Cribb; and his best pal, Randy Simmons.
A Graveside Service honoring Buddy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on May 26, 2026, at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville, NC. Pastor Herman Powell and Preacher Daniel Eddinger will officiate the service.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, an organization close to Buddy's heart.
Buddy will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
