Larry Franklin Smith, born on August 17, 1942, in Palm Beach County, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest High Point Medical Center. He was 83 years old.

Larry was the beloved son of the late Wayne Robert and Ruth Smith. At the tender age of 12, in 1954, he accepted Jehovah and united with the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, where he faithfully served as a Ministerial Servant throughout his life.

He dedicated many years to his profession as a truck driver, a career that took him across countless miles and introduced him to a wide array of people and places. Beyond his work, Larry was a man of simple pleasures who found joy in the tranquility of fishing. He often joked that his wife Bonnie's jewelry could be fashioned into fishing lures, a testament to his enduring sense of humor and lighthearted spirit.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Darlene "Bonnie" Bernita Smith, who stood by his side through his journeys. His memory will also be cherished by his children, Randy Smith, Brian Smith, and Mary Esther Garcia, as well as his grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his later years.

A memorial service to honor Larry's life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Jehovah's Witnesses, reflecting Larry's lifelong commitment to his faith.

Though he has departed from this world, Larry Franklin Smith's legacy of love, faith, and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
