Julie Lynn Roosa

Julie Lynn Roosa, born on July 21, 1970, in Sarasota County, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the age of 55.

Julie was the beloved daughter of the late Richard Lamar Payne and Cheryl Lynn (Town) Payne. She was also preceded in death by her brother and grandparents. Julie received her formal education at Avery County High School and went on to further her studies at Keiser University.

Throughout her life, Julie found joy in spending time with her cherished pets and adored her role as a grandmother. Her grandbabies were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Julie is survived by her loving fiancé, John Petty; her children, Dena Payne and Abby Payne; her precious grandson, LJ Petty; and her beloved granddaughter, Alaina L. Nutt. She will also be dearly missed by her work family: Jeremy Prince, Joshua Frederick, Lance Paulick, Larry Howell, James Baker, William Steelman, Dabian Madison, Mrs. Mo, Katy Delp, and so many others whose lives she touched.

Though no formal services are planned at this time, Julie's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit will be remembered always.
