In Loving Memory of Glenda Gail Garris Leonard

Glenda Gail Garris Leonard, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, at the age of 64, after a courageous fight with cancer surrounded by her loved ones. A lifelong resident of the area she called home, Glenda was born in Forsyth County, NC, on December 7, 1961, to the late Noah Ted Garris and Ruby Louise Jackson.

A proud graduate of North Davidson High School, Glenda spent her life cultivating a world centered around the people she loved. She found her greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life: the feeling of sand between her toes at the beach, the comfort of her favorite television shows, and the unconditional loyalty of her beloved dog, Jack, who preceded her in death.

Glenda’s heart belonged to her family. She was the devoted mother of three children, whose lives were her pride and joy: Billy Cathan Hailey, and his sons, Chance and Lane Hailey; Keileigh Shae Leonard Jones (Steven), and her children, Evan, Dylan, and Silvie Hendrix; and Tara Desarae Leonard (Micheal), and her son, Jaxson Leonard.

Her love extended further to include her cherished step-daughter, Jamie Leonard Smith (Chris) and their children, all of whom held a special place in her life. Glenda is also survived by her three sisters Sherry, Lynn, Carin and a large, vibrant family of nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Glenda is preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Ruby; her husband, Mark Leonard; and her faithful companion, Jack. While her presence will be profoundly missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with those she loved so dearly.
