Donald Gray Doss, born in Forsyth County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC, on December 27, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on July 7, 1938, to the late Vineyard and Jetta Wright Doss, he lived a life marked by dedication, service, and kindness.

Donald was a man of great skill and integrity, having worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years. His craftsmanship and work ethic were admired by all who knew him. In his personal life, he was known for his generosity and willingness to help others, embodying the spirit of giving without hesitation.

In March of 1956, Donald answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Army, where he served with distinction until December 1957. His love for his country was evident, and he carried that pride throughout his life.

In the summer of 2023, at the age of 85, Donald accepted Christ as his Savior and was united with GWL Ministries, finding peace and purpose in his faith. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as painting, playing golf, and fishing, often sharing these joys with friends and family.

Donald was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Evelyn Doss; his parents, Vineyard and Jetta Doss; and his brother, Bobby L. Doss. He leaves behind his dear sister, Glenda McDonald; his stepchildren and step-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly.

In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held. Those who wish to honor Donald's memory may make memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, reflecting his generous spirit and love for helping those in need.

Donald Gray Doss will be remembered as a selfless, kind-hearted man whose legacy of love and service will endure in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
