Dale Ann La Point, born on October 9, 1947, in Otsego County, New York, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, in Davidson County, North Carolina. She lived a remarkable life of 77 years.
Dale dedicated much of her working life to serving others as a waitress, where she brought warmth and friendliness to all who sat at her tables. Beyond her work, she was known for her love of keeping an immaculate home, a testament to her passion for cleaning and creating warm, welcoming spaces.
Her joy extended beyond her household as she delighted in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid bingo player, always eager to share laughter and camaraderie with friends. Fishing provided her with moments of peace and connection to nature, while cooking allowed her to express love to those around her whenever she could manage it.
Dale is preceded in death by her beloved son, Scott La Point, and her parents, Ted and Mable Jean Squaires. Her legacy continues through her surviving family: sons Richard La Point and his wife Stefanie, and Steven La Point; her nine cherished grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Her brothers, Timothy Squaires and Mark Merwin, sister Robin Merwin, along with numerous nieces and nephews, will hold her memory dearly. Special friends Jerri, Sheila Squaires, and Sandy Lee will also remember her fondly.
The family will not be holding services at this time, but flowers are accepted for those wishing to express their condolences. Dale's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
